MPhil in Rehabilitation Psychology at NIEPID Secunderabad – Admissions 2025-26

National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Secunderabad has started inviting the applications for its MPhil Rehabilitation Psychology (2025) course for the academic session 2025-26. About NIEPID

NIEPID, was created in 1984 at Manovikasnagar, Secunderabad, is an autonomous body under the administrative control of Deparment of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. It has three regional centers located at Noida, NCT-Delhi, Kolkata, & Mumbai.

NIEPID, Secunderabad is also affiliated with Osmania University. NIEPID’s MPhil Rehabilitation Psychology (2025) course is recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Eligibility Criteria & Other Details

• The minimum educational requirement for the admission to this course is an MA/MSc degree in Psychology from the UGC recognized university.
• Candidates [of General Categories] must have a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST categories a minimum of 50% marks are required in aggregate.
• Candidates must need to submit an Eligibility Certificate from Osmania University (applicable to students from institutions other than Osmania University) within 15 days from the date of joining. Failure to submit will result in cancellation of admission, and the amount paid will be forfeited.
• Original certificates deposited will not be released during the course. Students are advised to keep a sufficient number of photocopies before submitting the original certificates to the office at the time of admission.
• Candidates once admitted to the course will not be allowed to withdraw under any circumstances. If a candidate still wishes to leave the course for any reason, the total fee and deposits paid will be forfeited.

Exam Pattern

1. The Exam will consist of 100 multiple choice questions.
2. The Syllabus will consist of General Psychology, Disability Acts & Policies, Research & Statistics, General Knowledge, Arithmetic, Reasoning, etc.
3. There will be Counselling/Interview Session after the Exam.

• To apply for the MPhil Rehabilitation Psychology program at NIEPID, Secunderabad, candidates must fill the application form attached below. Download the form and take a print out of it.
• Go through the application form and read everything carefully and fill in all the necessary details and attach the required documents.

Documents Required

Please attach the following documents with the application form:

• Birth certificate or SSC/Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth (self-attested copy).
• Self Attested copy of Intermediate (12th Std) Marksheet/Certificate.
• A Master’s degree or any other equivalent qualification, along with the marks/grade statement of the examination (self-attested copy).
• Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended (self-attested copy).
• For SC/ST candidates, a Social Status Certificate issued by the competent authority must be submitted. For OBC candidates, an OBC (NCL) Certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India must be submitted.
• If the candidate is a person with disability, a certificate from the government-prescribed certifying authority must be provided.
• An ICR sheet must be included with your application [find it attached with the Application form below](mandatory)
• A Demand Draft (non-refundable) drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favor of Director, NIEPID payable at Secunderabad/Hyderabad should be submitted. The original DD must be submitted along with the application.

Application Fee

• For General & OBC categories: Rs.1500
• For SC, ST & PwD categories: Rs.1100
• Late Fee (All categories): Rs.200

Stipend

NIEPID, Secunderabad, will pay stipend to the eligible candidates of RS.10,000 per month.
