GSET Psychology 2026 Registration Begins: Apply for Assistant Professor Eligibility in Gujarat

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, has officially started the registration process for the 20th Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) 2026. The GSET Psychology examination will be conducted on Sunday, November 29, 2026, to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across Gujarat.

Psychology graduates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in Gujarat can now apply for GSET Psychology 2026 through the official online portal before the deadline.

Who Can Apply?

  • Psychology graduates and students in the final year of a UGC-recognized Master’s degree in Psychology can apply.
  • The minimum qualifying marks required are:
    • 55% for General and General-EWS candidates.
    • 50% for SEBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates.
  • Candidates awaiting their final postgraduate results may also apply provisionally, provided they fulfil the required eligibility conditions within the prescribed period.
  • PhD Relaxation: Candidates who completed their Master’s degree by 19 September 1991 and hold a PhD degree are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks (from 55% to 50%) as per GSET eligibility rules.
  • There is no upper age limit for appearing in GSET.

GSET 2026 Examination Pattern

  • The examination will be conducted in offline mode (OMR-based) and will consist of two compulsory papers.

  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Rs 100 + applicable bank charges
